What Data We Collect
When you use FixPDFCopy.com, we collect the following information:
- PDF files: You upload PDF files for processing. These are stored temporarily and automatically deleted after 7 days.
- Email address: We collect your email address to send you download links and processing status notifications.
- Payment information: Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full credit card number. Stripe handles all payment data in compliance with PCI DSS standards.
- Usage data: We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage data such as pages visited, browser type, and general location. This helps us improve the service.
How We Use Your Data
Your data is used solely for providing the PDF processing service:
- PDF files are processed using OCR technology to fix text layers, then made available for download.
- Your email address is used only to send you download links, processing updates, and support communications.
- We never sell, rent, or share your personal information or documents with third parties for marketing purposes.
Data Retention
- PDF files: Both original and processed PDFs are automatically deleted 7 days after upload. No copies are retained.
- Job records: Processing job metadata (file name, page count, order number) is automatically deleted after 7 days.
- Payment records: Stripe retains payment records in accordance with their own privacy policy and applicable financial regulations.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate FixPDFCopy.com:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS): PDF files are stored in AWS S3 and processed using AWS Textract for OCR. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
- Stripe: Handles all payment processing. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Google Analytics: Collects anonymous usage statistics to help us improve the service. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request deletion of your data at any time by emailing help@fixpdfcopy.com.
- Request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
- Opt out of Google Analytics tracking by using a browser extension or disabling JavaScript.
Since we automatically delete all files and job records after 7 days, in most cases your data will already be removed by the time you request deletion.
Security
We take the security of your data seriously:
- All file transfers use HTTPS encryption.
- Files stored in AWS S3 are encrypted at rest.
- Access to files is controlled through time-limited presigned URLs (valid for 15 minutes).
- Magic link tokens are used for secure, password-free access to your processed files.
